Reggae Roast Founder and Director brings his Jamdown to PUMA YARD
 

Put on by Reggae Roast, JAMDOWN showcases the best roots reggae, dub, dubstep, and jungle music from across the globe. It heads to the PUMA YARD on 5 August with performers Kenny Knots and Dom Search (The Nextman) in tow. Reggae Roast was originally set up in 2007 as an events company and record label by James Harper. It has since become a major force in London, with residencies at top London venues, and garnering widespread support from the likes of Radio 1, 1xtra and Kiss FM.

1. What do you have for breakfast the morning of a performance?

Porridge. I just can't do without that oaty goodness.

2. What’s your favorite spot in London?
Parliament Hill (Hampstead Heath) overlooking the whole of London – nowhere better to see the big smoke we call home.

3. When are you most happy?
When I'm standing next to bass bin. Bob Marley was right: when the music hits you, you feel no pain.

4. Name the most inspiring place in the world.
Glastonbury Festival.

5. Do you own an air guitar?
Yes, I was actually playing it today.

6. Which question are you asked the most when interviewed?
What's your favorite track? Or, How did Reggae Roast come about?

7. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
To fly.

8. Did you play sports growing up? Do you play now?
Yes I played loads, mostly football and also cricket. I still play cricket and I also cycle a lot. I just got back from cycling from the north coast to the south coast of France. Amazing.
